Orkney Self Catering Accommodation

Overbigging stands in it’s own grounds on top of a rise offering privacy and unobstructed views for miles around - thanks also to the clean air. Within walking distance are three of the four sites that comprise Scotland's first Archaeology World Heritage Site i.e. Maes Howe, the Ring of Brodgar and the Standing Stones of Stenness.

A garage and general store in nearby Stenness Village are open seven days a week supplying fuel, food, vegetables, papers, wines and spirits. The Standing Stones Hotel sitting on the edge of the Stenness Loch, has an attractive bar and good restaurant facilities, serving a wide selection of local produce.

A souvenir shop is only a short walk away at Tormiston Mill which also functions as an information and admission centre for the ancient burial chamber of Maes Howe.

For those who like fishing, one of the best trout lochs in Orkney is just a short walk away and the fishing is free.

An extensive selection of brochures and tourist guides are available for you to use when planning visits to the many ancient monuments and other places of interest.
